March 2022 week 2
I am Divine Love, Aham Prema
“When we are in balance, we automatically live in non violence. Balance comes from listening to the guidance and wisdom of the inner voice.” Deborah Adele
This week we continue our studies of the first Yama, Ahimsa, non violence. I love the above quote and how it speaks to our dedication to our meditation and yoga practices. On a physical level on our yoga mats we find balance in the physical poses and also in our yoga practice as a whole- are we creating physical harm to ourselves by doing too much, or are we harming ourselves in that we are stifling our growth physically by telling ourselves we can’t do this or that? Are we impatient if the practice is moving slower? Do we get ready for our day and “leave” the mat during shavasana? We are our best teacher.
So important - how we do yoga on our mat is a representation of how we do life. So do we come to our mat and are immediately negative and skeptical or are we hopeful and curious? Are we going to squeeze every last physical benefit out of the practice or will we have a story on our mat that we are not strong enough, fit enough, flexible enough to do this - all negative harmful limiting thoughts or do we find our sweet spot on the mat and in life where we are doing the practice and life with perfect balance of its enough, not too much and not too little.
Our yoga practice and our meditation helps us to find the balance in our lives off the mats, our emotions and our thoughts. This month practice the Aham Prema meditation as often as you can, preferably before you start your day. This balance in our minds and emotions helps us to live Ahimsa with ourselves and others, I promise. Like anything else, what we put into our spiritual practice is what we get out of it, so try to do the daily work! Aham Prema, I am Divine Love!!!
